Cleverly v Bellew II: Who is going to steal the show on Saturday? The Panel's picks vary...

Nelson and Watt go for DeGale, Smith goes for Quigg

Image: James DeGale: has matured and now knows he needs to put on a show, says Johnny

It is a packed and potent bill coming your way on Saturday night but other than the main event involving Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew, we asked The Panel who else is going to impress us...

The main event will leave us talking but which one of the big-name fighters on the bill will really put on an impressive, entertaining and technical show?

James DeGale is not all front. He knows what he has to do now and he knows he can - and I think he will
Johnny Nelson

Johnny Nelson: Well, I think of all those fantastic fighters and Cleverly and Bellew aside, James DeGale has got the toughest test of the lot. This Marco Antonio Periban could give him a real test and although he is not a big name and the fans might not appreciate it, I think DeGale will shine. People now respect him after that Wembley display and he is making peple sit back and take note. And above all, James DeGale is not all front. He knows what he has to do now and he knows he can - and I think he will. He might need a couple more fights to push him back up to the same level as his old friend, but I think we will see the first step on Saturday.

Jim Watt: I think it is hard to look beyond the top of the bill. We want to see someone giving us plenty to talk about and of course, thaty means the winner of Cleverly v Bellew II will be in line for a crack at the cruiserweight world title. James DeGale has good a good opponent in the shapoe of Marco Antonio Periban at a good stage in his career and after his performance at Wembley and the way he cleaned out Brandon Gonzales, I think he will look good. The fact that he is already the IBF mandatory and the fact that he has finally realised a win is not enough, I think we could be looking to see what he produces. But let's be honest, the top billing is the one where it is all on the line.

Image: Anthony Joshua: is always going to leave us impressed, admits Jamie

Jamie Moore: It could be any of them because they are all top names and some of Britain's best. But you know what, Anthony Joshua always entertains us and over the past few fights has left us walking away going 'you know what, that was brilliant'. Maybe he will do it again, against a guy we have known for years and seen give more experienced fighters problems. It is hard to pick one out and the main event is going to be explosive and if anything or anyone is going to top that, it can only be Anthony Joshua.

Glenn McCrory: I am a massive fan of Anthony Joshua. I remember when Lennox Lewis came through, not only did I get to fight him (badly) but I worked on his career when it really took off and was there for the whole shebang. And I can see exactly the same with Joshua. This is the very start and I think we all want to see him fight the best in the world, go to Las Vegas, take on any heavyweight name, show the world how good he is. He is doing that already, albeit against people we know he will beat, like dear old Michael Sprott. Whatever happens - and we are talking about a Joshua win, it's more when than how - everyone is going to be paying close attention. I think we have a real star in our midst.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 13: Scott Quigg (L) exchanges blows with Stephane Jamoye during the WBA World Super Bantamweight fight at the Phones 4u Are
Image: Scottt Quigg: technically perfect

Paul Smith: It's not because I see him in the gym but I could sit there all day and watch Scott Quigg. Some of the things he does amazes me... still. He is a technical perfectionist; the same way Callum is as well, I suppose. Callum is like that in life; he won't just kick his shoes off at the end of the bed, he has to put them down carefully. But Quigg? He will do 10 rounds just to warm up on a basic combination and he won't stop until he gets it right. With Quigg, the more you watch him and the more he progresses, he is getting better and better. What he does and the approach he takes put him above everybody else and that is why he is a world champion. He once told me something that stuck with me: "I am not going to get any fitter over 12 rounds. I will do that no problem at all, so I will work at the technical side of my game." That makes complete sense and we will see that on Saturday night.
