Nathan Cleverly insists Tony Bellew is the true ‘fraud’ and has vowed to humiliate him in front of his hometown fans.

Bellew gave a clear indication of the ill feeling between both cruiserweights when he taped the word ‘fraud’ across the Welshman’s head during a media workout this week.

But Cleverly laughed off this latest insult and intends to make a mockery of his opponent’s brash predictions by pulling off another win in his Liverpool backyard this Saturday, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

This guy is all talk. We’re going to find out on Saturday night. I’m going to embarrass him in his hometown.

“He’s trying to say I’m the fraud. Deep down he knows he’s the fraud,” Cleverly told Sky Sports News HQ.

“He gives it all this big talk. He’s going to deliver this, he’s this big massive puncher, he’s prepared to be carried out on a stretcher. It’s all a load of nonsense - I’m the one who can do all that.

The war of words is expected to continue at the pre-fight press conference, but Cleverly believes his rival is wasting his time if he tries to antagonise him again.

More from Cleverly V Bellew Ii

“He can’t say anything new. I think he’s ticked every box,” said the former WBO light-heavyweight champion.

“He’s said everything he’s wanted to say, from saying about me in the boxing ring, from saying about me in the boxing ring. He’s tried everything. He’s tried rattling my cage, tried insulting me, disrespecting me, tried every trick in the book and he’s failed.”
