Tyson Fury will improve in the rematch but Wladimir Klitschkko can't, says Carl Froch

Carl Froch thinks Wladimir Klitschko is making a big mistake taking the instant rematch because he was so poor in the first bout - and Tyson Fury is going to be even better...

So Klitschko has asked for the immediate rematch? Well, we are looking at a repeat performance and Tyson Fury will do an even better job.

I can understand why they want to take him on again, but I can't see why Klitschko wants it straight away. Given the way he performed in the first one, I just don't see where he gets his ambition to give it another go.

Tyson went into that first one believing he could do it but he didn't know and was still dangerous. Now he knows - and we know - he can do it second time around.

I do not want to take anything away from Fury, because he did exactly what he said he'd do; make it awkward and beat him. He got under his skin throughout, he just had everything he needed to beat Klitschko and beat him well - no matter how bad the world champion was.

His punch volume, his ambition, his confidence were all poor. He looked like he didn't have a clue and was just following Fury around. He boxed so poorly, with no conviction, I just can't see how Klitschko comes into the rematch suddenly feeling like he's right up for it.

I don't understand what he can do in the rematch that he couldn't do in the first one - mentally or physically. I did think in the first two rounds he actually backed Fury up. Tyson then started to move and I remember thinking he was about to be caught with that big shot. But Klitschko didn't or couldn't throw it. That has me wondering just how he can improve in the next one.

Maybe he was just so scared, maybe he just got old, but he barely threw a punch all night. You could say he can only get better but I don't know how he can justify being so bad on Saturday night, then wanting to do it again.

Peter Fury confirms that Wladimir Klitschko has decided to take up the contractual option for a rematch against Tyson Fury

Klitschko has been a world champion for more than 10 years, but can he put his finger on something to change it all second time around? I just can't see what he can do.

Let me tell you one thing I am sure of: Tyson Fury is going to grow in confidence as a world champion. He might become more elusive, but fair play to him, he should and he will. Tyson went into that first one believing he could do it but he didn't know, and was still dangerous. Now he knows - and we know - he can do it second time around.

Speaking of the trainers, Johnathon Banks cannot be blamed at all. He didn't tell Klitschko not to throw a punch all night! As for Peter Fury, I have to give him all the credit in the world. Not only did he come up with the perfect game plan but to see the emotion at the end, as an uncle and a trainer, it was a pleasure to be ringside.

I've got a lot of time for Peter and I like Tyson too. Fair play to them both because they did it. They told us what they were going to do and they did it.

And they both know they've got more to offer. We will see a better Tyson Fury - especially in the immediate rematch.

They are going up against what looked to me like an old man, who had no confidence and was that poor, he will be as poor again.

This rematch clause suits Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champion of the world, down to the ground.
