Joshua: Big sporting names expected at heavyweight world title fight
Friday 8 April 2016 19:30, UK
A host of big names from the world of sport are expected to attend Anthony Joshua's world title fight with Charles Martin at The O2.
Joshua will challenge Charles Martin for the IBF world heavyweight title on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and a variety of sports stars are due to appear at the 17,000 seat venue in London.
The sold-out crowd is set to include Joshua's fellow Olympic gold medallist, heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, along with former Australia international cricketer Shane Warne and England and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp.
Fellow boxers including former world champions Ricky Hatton, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and current title holders James DeGale and Kell Brook will also be cheering on the British fighter.
And the boxing world is waiting to see if current world champion Tyson Fury will be watching his heavyweight rivals.
Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said: "The problem we've had is that we've only got 17,000 seats and they all sold out in 90 seconds and since then, everyone and anyone has been on trying to get tickets.
"It's been difficult to fulfil people's requirements. That includes talented sportsmen, actors and musicians who all want to be part of the show, but the sad thing is we've only got so many seats."
Charles Martin vs Anthony Joshua is live on Sky Sports Box Office on April 9. Order the event online now.
