Joshua vs Breazeale: Martin Murray visits inspirational supporters ahead of George Groves fight
Friday 17 June 2016 10:19, UK
Martin Murray has been working out with his inspirational supporters as he builds up for his fight with George Groves.
The super-middleweight star is a regular at Mill Green School in Parr, St Helens, a co-educational day special school where he is more than happy to don the pads for special learners aged 13 to 19.
Murray will face Groves (23-3-0-KO18) at The O2 on June 25, live on Sky Sports Box Office, but took a break from training to drop in for a 90-minute boxing lesson and to present the school with a robe and signed bandages from a recent fight.
The pupils will be making him good luck cards ahead of his crucial fight with Groves and the world title challenger expressed his pride at what boxing can do outside of the ring.
"I love going into that school and working with the kids; it's such a humbling and inspirational place," he told Sky Sports.
"They love the boxing classes that I do with them but I always get more out of the visits. Seeing their faces is priceless.
"It makes you realise that we don't have problems in the big scheme of things. These kids put us all to shame."
Murray was the guest of honour when Mill Green School was opened in 2014.
