David Haye says his training camp in Miami has left him feeling like a 26-year-old again ahead of his fight against Tony Bellew

So Shane McGuigan has been out with David Haye in Miami, but is it just a smoke-screen or proof that the fighter has complete control?

Well we put some of Britain's best trainers under the spotlight to share their views on the trip...

Jim McDonnell

All fighters and trainers have their way of doing it so theirs is obviously different to mine. David is obviously very comfortable with that Miami set-up. Me and James DeGale have been out there, and the weather does play a big part. It's obviously David's decision, not Shane's. At this stage of the game David Haye is David Haye so he can't be changed, so why try and change the training plan?

David had a great jab before he met Shane, had a big right hand before he met Shane and had been champion of the world before he met Shane, so if I was Shane I'd just look at his very best performances and get him back to as close as that as is possible - and that doesn't matter where they are.

Adam Booth

David is 36 and he probably doesn't want to change who he is, so he needs a coach that sits along with that. From what I've seen David sets the type of training he wants to do, and Shane is a coach that fits in with that. That's what it appears like from the outside.

We never had our own yacht but we've trained in Miami, and I am pretty sure David is playing a game, conveniently turning the camera on when he's on the yacht, when he's got a cocktail glass in his hand, but not having the camera on when he's actually in the boxing gym. It makes a story, doesn't it?

Ricky Hatton

I wouldn't be worried about any of that, especially from what we've seen from Miami. We are all built differently as fighters and we all have to do what suits us best.

This clearly works for David and I can't see Shane having a problem. If my fighter felt at his most comfortable in doing any of that, then it's 100 per cent, yes.

Joe Gallagher

Haye has been around for a long time, he's been professional for 16 years and he's 36 so there isn't too much Shane could tell him that he hasn't seen or done before. David knows his body better than anyone else and he knows what to do, and he knows how to do it in Miami.

He wasn't out there doing nothing while McGuigan was busy with Carl Frampton and he then just joined up with him, to do the more important work, four or five weeks out. Then they will have nailed down the game-plan, sorted out the sparring, with Shane there. I really don't think there is a problem in the way they have prepared.

Don Charles

For a fight of this magnitude, you need 12 weeks. Out of that 12 weeks, you could say the first four weeks is spent on strength and conditioning, which is what Haye used to do with Adam Booth. If you look back at Haye's career, David was frequently in Miami, so I think he's just used this as a smoke-screen, saying he's living it up in Miami. He's a very intelligent man, David Haye, and it takes a very clever person to play the fool.

I think the public have bought that image that he's trying to portray. I don't for one minute believe he's just been training on that yacht, or he's only trained for two, three weeks for this fight. I had the privilege of taking Dereck Chisora to spar Tony Bellew last week and I witnessed what I witnessed. If David Haye hasn't prepared for this fight, then he's going to be in for a rude awakening.
