We are here for a few days and are staying at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, which is supposed to be haunted by the ghost of Marilyn Monroe. Only in America!
Today was the first, and biggest day of why we are here, to promote the fight.
I visited a couple of TV stations to do some interviews and after that, appeared on
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which goes out on CBS.
We had lunch at the
LA Times office, me, Manny, Floyd, Freddie, Bob Arum and Richard Schaeffer of Golden Boy.
A select few journalists were there and we happily answered questions over lunch.
Floyd and Freddie exchanged some words which made for an interesting time - and will do over the coming weeks, I'm sure.
In the evening we had a red carpet reception at The Roosevelt, followed by a big press conference.
Mark Wahlberg and Mickey Rourke turned up and I got to meet them, which was great.
Growing up in Hattersley I never thought that one day Hollywood stars and the red carpet would be rolled out for Ricky Hatton.
Later that night we returned home on the same jet. I can confirm though that we managed to convince get Floyd to get on board and not get a bus.
