But Booth confident he will win the war
Rocky Dean insists it would be a "boyhood dream" to win the British title for Jason Booth at the York Hall on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old has had a mixed career, winning 14 of his 26 fights - with 10 defeats and two draws.
However he will get his shot at the domestic super-bantamweight title when he takes on Booth.
And although he will find himself up against a champion who is a two-weight Commonwealth titlist, Dean is confident he can achieve his goal.
"I am an aggressive, come-forward fighter, so obviously I make it hard work for anyone," he told
Sky Sports News.
"I think it will be close for four or five rounds and then I am just going to get stronger and take the fight over.
"The title means everything. Money is nothing to me, it is all about the title. It is a boyhood dream for me."
Discipline
However Booth, who lost three challenges for the European flyweight title early in his career, insists he will retain his belt.
The 31-year-old inflicted the first defeat of Mark Moran's career to win the crown despite stepping up from bantamweight.
And after a troubled start to his career, Booth - who has a 32-5 record - is looking ahead to a bright future.
"It's down to hard work, training and discipline that everything is coming together now," he said. "All my troubles are behind me now and I am going from strength to strength."
Despite Dean's claims that he is going to make it a war in the ring, Booth insists that tactic could benefit him.
"I am quite looking forward to facing a hungry fighter as I am not too bad in the trenches myself as he will find out," he added.
