Amir Khan admits he has been shocked by how badly US fight fans want to see him take on Floyd Mayweather.
Two-time world champions Amir Khan opens up about his move to welterweight, his chances against Luis Collazo and, of course, the possibility of a superfight with Floyd Mayweather Jr
Amir Khan ends a 12-month absence from the ring this weekend when he moves up to welterweight to take on Luis Collazo in Las Vegas.
Sky Sports caught up with the two-time world champion to discuss his preparations for the fight, his thoughts about stepping up in weight divisions and just what kind of a test his opponent would provide.
However, whilst focused on his forthcoming opponent, Khan admitted that the possibility of a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr was all that boxing fans in America had wanted to talk to him about.
"Everywhere I've been going in Vegas people have been talking about one fight - Khan-Mayweather - even though I've got a fight in front of me. I can't look past Luis Collazo, but everywhere I go they want to see Khan-Mayweather. The hype is so big in America - I didn't think it was this big."
