IBF world welterweight champion Kell Brook says he is looking to 'seek and destroy' Frankie Gavin

An overview of Frankie Gavin's bid to dethrone Kell Brook as the IBF world welterweight champion live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Background

Kell Brook remains undefeated and returned from an horrific stab wound in his leg to make a scintillating first defence of his IBF world welterweight crown in March, stopping Jo Jo Dan in four rounds in Sheffield.

In Frankie Gavin, he faces Britain's only ever world amateur champion who, despite an agonising split decision defeat to Leonard Bundu for the European welterweight crown nearly a year ago, is determined to defy the odds and become world champion.

The pair have been largely respectful of each other in the lead-up to the bout but there were a few choice words exchanged at Friday's weigh-in, when Gavin weighed in slightly heavier at 10st 6lb 9oz to Brook's 10st 6lb 4oz.

Surprisingly, Gavin has insisted he is prepared to trade blows with Brook despite not being known as a big puncher, and we could be set for a classic as two Britons fight for a world welterweight title for the first time in boxing history.

What the fighters say

Frankie Gavin has warned Kell Brook he is ready to go to war

What the experts say

Glenn McCrory's prediction: Brook stoppage

Glenn McCrory

"There's a great fighter in Frankie Gavin. Is Kell Brook going to bring him out? My bet would still be Kell Brook, but we know that mentally he has shown frailty in the past."

Carl Froch's prediction: Brook stoppage

Carl Froch

"I can only see Kell getting better and better now he's got that self-belief and that means there won't be any sort of upset on Saturday night. Frankie is just out of his league."

Jamie Moore's prediction: Brook on points

Jamie Moore

"I had Frankie sparring down in my gym last week and he looks really sharp on the back foot. Brook is used to awkward fighters though and the southpaw stance will not bother him."
