Joaquim Rodriguez sealed overall glory in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya as Juan Jose Haedo won the seventh and final stage in Barcelona. Haedo of Argentina triumphed in a sprint finish at the end of Sunday's 117.8km ride from Sant Cugat del Valles to Montmelo after being led out by his brother, and Saxo Bank team-mate, Sebastian. Team Sky's Davide Vigano had been right in the mix but ended up in fourth, behind Robert Forster of Germany and Irishman Nicolas Roche. Katusha's Rodriguez was awarded the same time as the winner in the peleton to be crowned the first Catalan-born champion in the race for 27 years. He ended up with a 10-second cushion over compatriot Xavier Tondo (Cervélo), with Cofidis' Rein Taaramaee of Estonia completing the podium. Stephen Cummings finished the event as the leading Team Sky rider in the overall standings in 54th, 16 minutes and 45 seconds behind the champion. Stage seven result:
