Phil Taylor will bid to sign off at the Winter Gardens with a 16th World Matchplay title when he takes on Peter Wright in Sunday's final.
Taylor and Wright will clash on Sunday night following their semi-final triumphs against Adrian Lewis and Daryl Gurney in Blackpool.
Legendary star Taylor followed up Friday's defeat of reigning champion Michael van Gerwen with a 17-9 win over Adrian Lewis and set up a fairy-tale final against Peter Wright.
Wright had earlier won through to his first World Matchplay final, defeating Daryl Gurney 17-15 to continue his bid for a second televised title of the year following his UK Open victory in March.
Taylor is now the odds-on favourite going into Sunday's final, with Wright the outsider, and 'The Power' leads the head-to-head meetings 20-10 with three draws.
But the 56-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent will have revenge on his mind after 'Snakebite' won their last encounter on Premier League play-offs night at London's O2 with a nail-biting 10-9 success to reach the final.
World No 3 Wright has the edge in recent clashes as well with four wins out of their last six meetings.
