Peter Wright ended Corey Cadby’s surprise run at the Perth Masters at the quarter-final stage.
Australia's Cadby had shockingly eliminated reigning champion Phil Taylor in the previous round of the World Series of Darts tournament.
But he couldn't repeat the trick against 'Snakebite' who sealed a one-sided 10-2 win to book a semi-final spot.
"I saw Corey beat Phil and knew it was going to be a very difficult game," said Wright.
"Corey's going to be awesome and he's an entertainer, and I tried to be that too. I was focused despite not feeling my best, and the darts are right for this tournament - I think."
Wright will next meet Michael van Gerwen who beat James Wade 10-8. Dave Chisnall upset Gary Anderson 10-7 and will advance to face Raymond van Barneveld, who eliminated Adrian Lewis with a 10-8 victory.
The Perth Masters concludes on Saturday with the semi-finals and final.
