Adrian Lewis among qualifiers for European Tour

Adrian Lewis won England's opening match against South Africa

Adrian Lewis put recent controversies behind him by advancing through the UK qualifiers for the year’s first two European Tour events.

Lewis had been fined and given a suspended ban after an altercation with Jose Justicia Perales but was back on the winning trail on Friday night.

James Wade, Jonny Clayton, Chris Dobey, Ryan Meikle and Luke Humphries joined Lewis in securing qualification for the £135,000 tournaments in Germany.

Lewis, who won the European Tour in 2012, defeated Callan Rydz and Tony Newell to advance.

The 2018 Premier League heads to the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin next Thursday with coverage underway from 7pm on Sky Sports Action. Twelve weeks of tungsten action will continue through to the season's conclusion with the Play-Offs on May 17 at The O2 in London.
