Daryl Gurney was met by a sensational wall of noise as he came out to his walk-on song in Belfast

A return home to Belfast brought the best out of Daryl Gurney as he stunned world champion Rob Cross at a packed SSE Arena.

Northern Irishman Gurney ended Cross' five-match winning streak with a 7-5 victory to the delight of the 10,000-strong crowd.

The World Grand Prix champion thrilled spectators by throwing nine maximums in a sensational performance to secure his Premier League safety and boost his play-off hopes.

The 2018 Premier League heads to the Echo Arena in Liverpool for Judgement Night next Thursday, with coverage underway from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & Sky Sports Mix, which you can find on channel 287, and is free for all Sky customers. Six weeks of tungsten action will then continue through to the season's conclusion with the Play-Offs on May 17 at The O2 in London.
