It’s a very sad day my great pal Eric Bristow has sadly passed away. I will cherish the great memories and laughs we have had together over the last 30 Years. If it wasn’t for Eric our sport would not be what it is today, he leaves a great legacy. RIP my friend. pic.twitter.com/syB0ItISex— Keith Deller (@KDeller138) April 5, 2018

The sport of darts owes him everything, he made it the huge success it is today.
He was the first superstar of darts, an amazing player but also a massive character.
One of my biggest inspirations.
He’ll be sorely missed. pic.twitter.com/MUZ1h9YhYV
It’s such a desperately sad night. In the 1980s we all wanted to be Eric Bristow. He was brash. He was flash. He played with unparalleled panache. He loved playing darts, talking darts. He was darts. The biggest star darts has ever had, the sport owes Eric a huge debt of gratitude.— Rod Studd (@Rod_Studd) April 5, 2018

When I was given a chance to work on the Sky Sports Darts team in 2006 this man put his arm around me and calmed my nerves as I was bricking it. Was a dream come true to meet him and then work with him. Treasured memories forever. pic.twitter.com/C6bheB91Pg— Nigel Pearson (@nigelpearson) April 5, 2018
