Qualifier Kist to face O'Shea in Sunday's final
Christian Kist and Tony O'Shea will contest the 2012 BDO World Championship final after both recorded dramatic semi-final victories at Frimley Green.
Dutch qualifier Kist produced the shock result of Saturday as he fought back from 5-3 down to defeat former champion Ted Hankey 6-5.
And O'Shea booked a date with Kist in Sunday's final at Frimley Green with an equally-dramatic 6-5 triumph over another Dutchman, Wesley Harms.
New Dutch sensation Kist began the stronger over 43-year-old Englishman Hankey, taking a 2-1 lead before 'The Count' found his rhythm.
Draft
The Stoke thrower claimed a 5-3 lead and looked on the brink of defending his perfect record in three previous semi-finals.
But, when Hankey narrowly missed hitting the bull for the match at 5-4, Kist seized the opportunity and levelled the match at 5-5.
Hankey soon went 2-0 down in the decider and lost his concentration completely as he complained about a draft when behind in the third leg leaving Kist to coast to victory with a double-12.
However, Stockport thrower O'Shea prevented Wesley Harms from making it a double Dutch showdown, with a tense 6-5 victory in the other semi-final.
O'Shea reached the second world final of his career by taking the deciding set 3-1, clinching an emotional triumph on double 10, having missed his first attempt to close out the contest on double-tops.
