BDO World Championship: Alan Norris seeks repeat appearance in Lakeside final

Alan Norris will be targeting another appearance in the Lakeside final when the BDO World Championship starts on Saturday.
The Yeovil man staged a spirited rally in last year’s showpiece, but eventually suffered a 7-4 defeat against Stephen Bunting.
Since that triumph, Bunting has switched to the PDC, and 'Chuck' Norris returns as the second seed after capturing titles in six BDO ranking tournaments.
But there are plenty of other contenders for the crown, with top seed James Wilson leading a strong field that includes experienced performers such as Tony O’Shea, Scott Waites, Martin Phillips and Martin Adams.
‘Wolfie’ Adams has been a mainstay at Frimley Green for a number of years, finally winning the tournament in 2007, but has been handed a tough opening clash against Jan ‘Double’ Dekker.
The Dutchman is joined in the draw by compatriot Wesley Harms, who has been listed as the eighth seed after successive semi-final appearances.
Popular duo O’Shea and Scott Mitchell have been pitted against each other in the pick of the first round matches.
First round draw:
