Gary Anderson defeated Steve Beaton 6-3 to progress to the final session of the German Darts Championship.

The PDC event finishes with Sunday's evening session which will feature the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

Beaton averaged 102, hit four 180s and checked out from 101 but still couldn't eliminate the reigning champion, who will meet Justin Pipe in the last eight in a rematch of last year's final.

Pipe took out 110 and 74 to edge out Mervyn King in his third round match.

Vincent van der Voort overcame James Wade's three ton-plus finishes to win 6-4. Van Der Voort won the first four legs but withstood a fightback before confirming victory.

Adrian Lewis won 6-2 over Peter Wright as they averaged 108 and 102, respectively.

They each notched 14-darters and Lewis finished a leg with 12 darts in a classy encounter.
