Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld meet on Night 10 of the Premier League in Sheffield
Thursday 9 April 2015 09:59, UK
Darting juggernauts Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld will square off at the oche in Sheffield on Night 10 of the Premier League Darts as the race for the play-offs gets underway.
Barney emerged victorious when the two players met in Glasgow on night seven, but that remains the Dutchman's last win and he narrowly avoided elimination on Judgement Night, finishing level on points with Peter Wright.
Also on the oche…
Michael van Gerwen could stretch his unbeaten streak in televised matches to 30 when he faces Stephen Bunting. The 2014 BDO world champion has not won since defeating Dave Chisnall on Night Six in Nottingham and was beaten 7-3 by van Gerwen when the pair met in Bournemouth in February.
Van Gerwen's nearest challengers at the top of the table meet when Dave Chisnall takes on Gary Anderson. The world champion will be keen to avenge his 7-2 thumping at the hands of Chisnall on Night Five, but the world champion is unbeaten since that night in Exeter. However, Chisnall isn't fazed by facing the big-names.
"I'm up there with all of them. If I'm playing a match against them, I don't get carried away, because I know I can win," he told Sky Sports.
"I'm just as good as them on my day - and so are the other players. The eight players left in the Premier League are all on the same level so I can beat anyone. You never know what's going to happen.
"I agree that I'm known as an underdog but I've already had games that prove I shouldn't be."
Chisnall will be action for a second time when he faces James Wade in the night's final match. Before that, Wade will be first on the oche when he takes on Adrian Lewis who avoided elimination by defeating Wright last time out.
