PDC World Championship: Raymond van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen, James Wade and Stephen Bunting in action

James Wade and Stephen Bunting meet in a mouth-watering round two clash today at the PDC World Darts Championship.

Current BDO world champion Bunting didn't find it easy against qualifier Robert Marijanovic in his debut game at Alexandra Palace, and it won’t get any easier for the man from St Helens with today's match against James ‘The Machine’ Wade.

Former Premier League winner Wade, who is fresh from winning The Masters in Edinburgh last month, is one of the favourites to take home the tournament title after reaching the semi-finals three times in the past.

Bunting, meanwhile, has been making his mark on the PDC tour since switching codes after his Lakeside win in January. This tie is the final fixture from round two and what a match it promises to be.

On Monday afternoon you can watch Netherlands star Vincent van der Voort play German teenager Max Hopp, who caused a shock in the first round when he beat Mervyn King.

That match is followed by 14th seed Raymond van Barneveld against Jamie Caven. Van Barneveld, the 2007 champion, eased past young Austrian Rowby-John Rodriguez in the first round in what was a terrific performance, sealing the win with 170 check out.

Caven had a few troubles with his doubles in his opening round 3-2 victory over Jason Hogg, but with the shocks and surprises we've already seen on the Ally Pally oche, this could go either way.

The lunchtime session begins live on Sky Sports Darts from 12.30pm today with Brendan Dolan versus Michael Smith. Irishman Dolan won his opening match against Nolan Arendse in style, crushing the South African with a 3-0 whitewash.

Smith put in a gutsy performance against a battling Mensur Suljovic, and hit an admirable nine 180s to set up this tungsten tussle.

Evening session

The big matches continue in to the evening session. After we finish round two with Wade v Bunting, current world champion Michael van Gerwen takes to the stage to kick-off round three against near nine-darter Terry Jenkins.

Van Gerwen hasn't looked his normal fluid self so far in the tournament with unconvincing wins over Joe Cullen and Sascha Stein in the opening rounds. Jenkins led an incredible charge in round two to thrash Laurence Ryder, almost hitting the perfect leg in the process, and the man known as 'The Bull' has beaten Van Gerwen in their last two meetings.

Rounding off today's action will be Scotland’s Robert Thornton against the young Dutch star Benito van den Pas, who caused one of the biggest shocks of the tournament so far by beating Dave Chisnall in the second round.

Thornton is one of the favourites for the title this year, but will he too crumble under the bright lights on the oche at the Ally Pally? Find out live on Sky Sports Darts.
