Grand Slam of Darts: Michael van Gerwen and Adrian Lewis in action
Wednesday 11 November 2020 16:02, UK
The Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finals conclude with a pair of mammoth matches to light up your Saturday evening.
Michael van Gerwen takes on Kim Huybrechts after Adrian Lewis plays Michael Smith for the right to advance into the semi-finals of the Wolverhampton event.
Van Gerwen's match against Huybrechts is a rematch from last year's event at the same stage, when the Belgian hit a nine-darter to send the world No 1 crashing out.
Van Gerwen has been in predictably stunning form all week, most recently hammering Steve Beaton 10-2, but in Huybrechts he will receive a stiff increase in competition.
While the Dutchman still enjoys a 12-8 overall record, that is close enough to suggest the Belgian can spring a surprise - particularly if he repeats last year's brilliance.
Meanwhile, Lewis will be favoured to beat the up-and-coming Smith but won't want a reminder about their head-to-head record.
'Bully Boy' has won six and lost three times to 'Jackpot' but Lewis' big-game experience will come in handy when they meet under the lights in Wolverhampton.
