Raymond van Barneveld begins his quest for his first World Championship title since 2007 when he takes to the Alexandra Palace oche against fellow Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode.
The five-time World champion last won the big one eight years ago after defeating Phil 'The Power' Taylor in a sudden-death leg in one of the most famous finals ever.
The man from The Hague has not reached the final in north London since his trouncing at the hands of Taylor in 2009, but the former Premier League champion will be determined to make an instant impression on Sunday evening.
Andy 'The Hammer' Hamilton headlines the afternoon session when he takes on Joe Murnan. The 32-year-old Bolton thrower picked up the first PDC title of his career with victory over Dave Chisnall in the final of Players Championship in May.

Former Lakeside champion Stephen Bunting plays Jyhan Artut from Germany before Barney's match against Van Duijvenbode.
Mervyn King, the 2009 semi-finalist, will take to the stage in the final match of the night against either Aleksandr Oreshkin or Paul Lim.
Lim is famous for hitting the headlines and jackpot in 1990 with the first-ever World Championship nine-darter at Lakeside.
