Romain Grosjean says last Sunday's podium finish in the Bahrain Grand Prix has been the highlight of his Formula 1 career.
Frenchman took best ever finish with third in Bahrain
Romain Grosjean says Sunday's podium finish in the Bahrain Grand Prix has been the highlight of his Formula 1 career.
The Frenchman followed home Sebastian Vettel and his Lotus team-mate Kimi Raikkonen in the desert to record his highest ever finish.
Grosjean has looked strong since returning to Formula 1, qualifying third at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, but a mixture of bad luck and driver error meant he had not been able to demonstrate his pace in a race this season.
"Sunday I think was the highlight of my F1 career, but qualifying in Melbourne was good as well," he told
Sky Sports News.
"The first races weren't as good as we were expecting. The performance was there and the races in China and Bahrain worked out pretty well.
"We put almost everything together and it is good for the future and if we put everything together we can achieve even better results."
The 26-year-old has also fared well against his World Champion team-mate, out-qualifying Raikkonen at three of the first four races.
When asked if he was worrying the Finn he laughed: "I don't know. Ask him the question.
"At the moment the atmosphere is good. We are doing the best we can for the team, but having a World Champion as a team-mate is always good as it helps you to progress faster.
"The car is performing well and fighting with the big guys of the championship gives you even more experience than fighting at the back for sure."
