Kimi Raikkonen (2007) and Jenson Button (2012) are the only other competitors in the field to have stood atop the podium at Interlagos. Overall Alain Prost holds the record for the most wins in Brazil with six, although five of those victories came at the Autodromo Internacional Nelson Piquet in Rio.

Felipe Massa (Ferrari); 8. Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber); 9. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes); 10. Daniel Ricciardo (Toro Rosso).

Last five winners in Brazil: 2013: Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull); 2012: Jenson Button (McLaren); 2011: Mark Webber (Red Bull); 2010:  Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull); 2009: Mark Webber (Red Bull).

Tyre allocation

Pirelli will bring the white-marked medium and the yellow-banded soft to Brazil this weekend – a change from their original plans due to the resurfaced track.

“Brazil is one of the biggest markets in the world for Pirelli, so it’s a pleasure to be there among our friends and supporters," says the firm's Motorsport Director Paul Hembery.

"The lap takes a lot out of the tyres due to the almost non-stop succession of corners, a number of which are high-speed. So getting the most out of the tyres and the strategy is clearly going to be of vital importance in the race. We’ve seen a number of wet races in the past at Interlagos, which seems to be a strong possibility this year as well. All of this adds to the reputation of the Brazilian Grand Prix for hosting dramatic races where nobody knows what to expect, so it’s likely that we can look forward to another exciting weekend in front of a crowd that is truly passionate about Formula 1.”
