Indian hopeful of seat for 2012 season
Narain Karthikeyan is still hopeful of securing one of the two remaining seats in a Formula One car next season.
Only Williams and Hispania (HRT) are yet to name their full driver line-ups for next season with a long list of candidates lining up for both vacancies.
Karthikeyan made his F1 comeback with HRT this year after a five-year absence but the Indian had to stand aside for the Red Bull-backed Australian rookie Daniel Ricciardo.
He returned to the cockpit for his inaugural home grand prix at the Buddh circuit, where he finished 17th, and is hoping that drive will be enough to get him a spot for the 2012 championship.
"I had a good Indian Grand Prix and the intention is to see what opportunities are available in Formula One and see how we can conclude something," he said.
"I'm not dealing with it directly. So there are people who are liaising on behalf of me."
