Back by popular demand, the Q&A in which we try to answer as many of your questions about our F1 plans as possible... When does the channel launch? The channel went live on Friday March 9 with a two-hour preview show. What is the channel's number?
Phew, an easy question to answer: 408. What if I want to Sky+ the action?: >BR> If you plan to Sky+ any of the live F1 programming from Australia over the weekend, to save you searching for all the individual programmes in your Sky Guide we have series linked every live session - from the Practices on Friday to the Qualifying session on Saturday right through to the live race on Sunday morning. Please note, if you intend to set your recordings individually, several of the programmes cross the 6am boundary where one broadcast day turns into another, therefore these will appear as two back to back programmes on your Sky Guide when in reality they are just one, so you need to ensure you record both. The specific slots affected are:
Practice 2 on Friday morning (shown as 5.15am & 6am)
Qualifying on Saturday morning (shown as 5am & 6am)
The Race on Sunday morning (shown as 4.30am & 6am) What exactly will Sky Sports F1 broadcast during the season?
Every race, every qualifying session, every practice session. From every grand prix from March to November. So 'everything' then?
You said that, not us. Will the race be interrupted by adverts?
In a word: no. But Bazz up the pub last night insisted that all the grands prix would be full of adverts...
We're aware that there's been plenty of false rumouring doing the rounds about our coverage, but here's one thing you can be certain of: Sky Sports F1 HD will be broadcasting all of next season's races live and uninterrupted by adverts. Promise. And say hi to Bazz from us. But there's more to a Grand Prix weekend than F1 isn't there?
There certainly is, which is why Sky Sports F1 HD will also be showing live coverage of both the GP2 and GP3 support series. What's the intro music going to be?
The title music will be 'Just Drive' by Alistair Griffin. Come this way to learn more - and see our title sequence. Will the channel be available on Virgin?
In a word: Yes. In linky fashion: read
here for the details announced by Virgin two weeks ago. Is the F1 channel available on BT Vision?
As with all of our channels we look to distribute them broadly across a range of platform. Sky Sports F1 is no different and will be available on both Sky and Virgin Media. At the moment, BT does not have the necessary technical capability or capacity to offer another Sky channel, but that may change in the future." Will the channel be available in Standard Definition as well as High Definition?
Yes, it will. And will it be available on Sky Go?
Yup, the app will be updated following the channel's launch. If the F1 channel is available on Sky Go, does that mean I can watch it via my Xbox?
The channel will be available on Xbox 360 to all customers with an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. How can I receive the new channel?
Sky Sports F1 HD is available at no extra charge to all Sky customers who are either subscribed to Sky Sports 1&2 or our HD service. Wait a minute. I'm already subscribed to the Sky Sports 1&2 package. Will I be receiving the F1 channel for no extra charge then?
Yes. Wait a minute for me too. I already subscribe to the HD pack. So F1 will be added to my package at no extra cost as well?
Correct. I'm not currently a Sky subscriber. How can I join to receive the F1 channel?
By subscribing either to our Sky Sports 1&2 package or to our HD service. Where can I find out about how to subscribe?
Come this way. I'm a Sky Sports subscriber in Ireland. Will I be able to receive the channel?
Yes. What are the plans of Sky Sports News for the year ahead?
Sky Sports News will broadcast from the site of every 2012 Grand Prix for up to six days, with two dedicated reporters devoted to following the sport throughout the year ahead. And what will be shown on the Red Button service?
We're still working on that, but we can tell you that our interactive service will include on-board cameras and plenty of features designed to take F1 fans deeper inside the sport. What else should we know?
