German caps strong weekend with podium finish

Timo Glock admitted he couldn't believe his luck after taking second place in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Toyota driver was placed third and struggling to keep Kimi Raikkonen at bay when race leader Felipe Massa retired with an engine failure on lap 67. With Heikki Kovalainen assuming the lead, the Ferrari driver's woes also allowed Glock through to claim second place, the first podium position of his F1 career. The German admitted that he was starting to feel the pressure from Raikkonen when Massa's race ended so cruelly. "This is just unbelievable. I couldn't believe it when I saw Massa's engine blow and I was racing in second position," Glock said. "I was under pressure from Raikkonen and I was struggling quite a lot but I had a really good car. It was perfect until the last stint. "Unbelievable... in my first year in Formula 1." Glock, who won the GP2 Championship last year, had performed strongly all weekend at the Hungaroring, qualifying a career-best fifth on the grid. His form came in spite of the nasty shunt he suffered in the German Grand Prix a fortnight earlier, Glock earning an overnight stay in hospital after a suspension failure pitched his car into a wall.
