German says he exceeded target
Timo Glock has said he is "really happy" after finishing 10th in the Drivers' Championship in his first season at Toyota.
The 26-year-old German, who won the GP2 series in 2007, accumulated 25 points during the year, his season highlight coming with a second-place finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
According to Glock, who made his F1 debut for Jordan in 2004, he therefore exceeded the target he set himself at the start of the year.
"I am really happy. To exceed my target of 20 points and finish on the podium in my first full season of Formula One is a great achievement," he told the official Formula One website.
"I have worked well with the engineers, with the mechanics and with (team-mate) Jarno (Trulli), so I have a very positive feeling in the team."
Difficult start
Glock admitted that it took a while to get used to the team's TF108 chassis, but added that everything fell into place around the time of June's Canadian Grand Prix - where he finished fourth to score his first points - when he felt more part of the team.
"The first four races were quite difficult and I wasn't sure if I could make my target of 20 points," he added.
"In F1 it is difficult to change the car from one race to another; it takes some time until you get the car working in your direction and that was even tougher because it was my first full season of racing in F1.
"I had to develop myself a bit as well and that takes a bit of time, but after Canada things turned around for me.
"I got even more integrated into the team, we developed the car together and we were quite strong. I made a good step at Hockenheim, where our race pace was strong, and from then on I was competitive everywhere."
