Seb Vettel is lamenting his Australian GP penalty, which will cost him ten places on Sunday's Malaysia grid.
Vettel was involved in a penultimate lap crash with Robert Kubica while the two were fighting over second place in Melbourne.
And although claims that it was Kubica's fault can be supported, the race stewards put the blame on Vettel, handing him a ten-grid slot penalty for this weekend's Malaysian GP.
And the Red Bull is not happy about it.
"Of course I am not happy with the penalty," he said. "For me it was a racing incident. Obviously there is no logic behind taking him out of the race - because I took myself out as well - so it is a shame for us as well as him.
"We had a strong weekend and a strong race, and just a couple of laps more to finish it - we didn't make it, so of course it is a shame."
Vettel, though, is still hoping for a solid finish on Sunday in Sepang, but admits that the forecast, which is predicting heavy rain, could play a hand in the outcome.
"I think we took a good car to Australia and have one here as well," he added. "The circuit is slightly different and the weather is not good at the moment, so let's see what happens on Sunday. We will push very hard to get the best possible result."
Meanwhile, team boss Christian Horner has backed the German to bounce back from the disappointment.
"He is a young guy, he drove fantastically well, and to me he had a racing accident with Kubica," he said. "I think he can take a lot of confidence away that we have a car with a lot of potential.
"He is driving better than ever, and because of his confidence, albeit with a penalty going into this weekend, I expect to see a similar performance from him. We still have zero points on the board so we need to get on the scoreboard as quickly as possible."
