Former Ferrari aerodynamics chief moves to McLaren

Former Ferrari head of aerodynamics John Iley has taken up the same role with McLaren, a spokesman for the British-based Formula One team has announced. The Briton left Italian outfit Ferrari last July after their 2009 car was overshadowed by eventual champions Brawn GP and Red Bull and began his new job at McLaren at the beginning of this year. Ferrari has appointed Marco de Luca as their new chief aerodynamicist, while Nikolas Tombazis, who returned to the team from McLaren in 2006, is chief designer. Mercedes-powered McLaren, who were fined a record $100million (£61m) in 2007 following a spying incident involving leaked information from Ferrari, have world champion Jenson Button and 2008 champion Lewis Hamilton as their drivers for the upcoming season.
