Gannon praises Valiant effort

Port Vale manager Jim Gannon was pleased to stop a run of six consecutive away losses with a 1-1 draw at Wycombe.
Scott Donnelly scored his first goal for the Chairboys to cancel out Leon Johnson's own goal and Vale missed the chance to snatch all three points when Nikki Bull kept out Tom Pope's late penalty. After Saturday's League Two clash at Adams Park, Gannon said: "I've said to the lads that that is a good result. "We'd lost six away games in a row and they had won five home games in a row coming into this. "To come here and get a draw and to get into a position where we could have had all three points is a great credit to them. "We put in a good effort and I'm disappointed we couldn't get the win but I'm sure their manager will be feeling the same."
