Larkin and Haslam in talks
Hartlepool are set to offer deals to trialists Steven Haslam and Colin Larkin.
The pair have impressed boss Chris Turner over pre-season and are now in talks over permanent deals.
Full-back Haslam is on a free transfer following his release by Bury, while Larkin is a free agent after leaving Northampton.
"Those two boys will add something to this playing squad without doubt," Turner told the
Hartlepool Mail.
"They'd definitely improve us.
"Stevie can play in a number of positions, sweeper behind two centre-halves, central midfield as a holding player and, as we saw on Saturday, he can play right-back. He's comfortable on the ball, he doesn't panic, he talks, has vast experience and he's very interesting.
"I've known Colin since he was 15 and I know what he can do. I think in a group of strikers, he would be an excellent addition to the strikeforce."
