Lomax out to impress Shrews

Defender Kelvin Lomax has revealed he is keen to make an impression at Shrewsbury over the next six months.

The right-back saw his contract terminated at Oldham on Monday having been surplus to requirements, and Shrews boss Graham Turner was quick to make a deadline-day swoop for his services on a deal until the end of the season. Lomax is in the final stages of his recovery from a ligament injury sustained during a loan spell with League Two leaders Chesterfield in late November. And after making the move to the Greenhous Meadow, the 24-year-old told Shrews Player: "It was not a hard move to make at all as soon as the manager (Paul Dickov) said Shrewsbury were interested. "As soon as I can get back fit, I just want to get back playing. I'm trying to get back fit at the moment and I'm not far off. "I wasn't going to be playing back at Oldham, and a six-month contract or a month it didn't matter. As long as I can come out and hopefully start playing again and just enjoy it while I'm here."
