Shrimpers starlet nets on return

Kyle Asante hit a hat-trick for Southend reserves on Tuesday as he continued his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury.

The precocious young striker had been out for 12 months with the injury but helped fire the Shrimpers' second-team to a 4-0 victory over Luton. Asante broke the deadlock in the first-half, before setting up Harry Crawford and scoring a further two goals.
