Waddock touts Halls to shine

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock says fans have yet to see the best of John Halls, saying they will see a different player when he's fit.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been carrying an Achilles problem since arriving at Adams Park from Aldershot in the summer. Halls played in Wanderers' first five games of the season but eventually succumbed to the injury and was left out of the squad that faced Huddersfield last weekend. Waddock told the Bucks Free Press: "Because it was a new club, he wanted to come in and do well and have the opportunity to play. He went through that pain barrier and it came to a head. We had a conversation and decided we need to get it right for him. "He can't perform at 60 to 70%, we need him performing at a lot higher and we'll probably see a different John Halls when he's fit. I think we've seen glimpses of what he's about, but through his own admission he feels he can play better than he has been doing." Waddock added: "He saw a specialist on Wednesday. He'll have a bit of time out but he'll possibly be back training next week. It's not serious but he has been injured since he's been here at the club and we've not seen the best of him yet."
