Mukendi appeal unsuccessful

Vinny Mukendi will miss Macclesfield's FA Cup tie with East Thurrock after his appeal against a red card was rejected.
Mukendi was dismissed for elbowing Burton Albion defender Ryan Austin 11 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute in Town's 1-0 defeat last Saturday. The 19-year-old DR Congo Under-20 international now holds the dubious honour of the fastest red card for a substitute in Football League history. Meanwhile, fellow forward Ben Tomlinson is facing four weeks on the sidelines after scans confirmed he has suffered a fractured foot. It was initially hoped Tomlinson had suffered no more than severe bruising when he sustained the injury in last month's 1-0 win over Crewe.
