Davis slams 'negative' duo

Steve Davis admits that he let Anthony Sarcevic and Jordan Connerton leave Crewe to maintain a harmonious dressing room.

Midfielder Sarcevic joined Chester FC for an undisclosed fee after telling Davis he wanted to leave while striker Connerton has joined Kendal Town on loan until January. Davis told Crewe's official website: "I only want players here who want to play for Crewe Alexandra. I am not interested in those who are not committed that way. "If you have that negativity around the place then that can spread very quickly and I want a dressing room where we are all in this together. I think I've got that now with a great set of lads who want to improve and push us on. "If you don't want to fight to play then I don't want them around, it's as simple as that."
