Bury youngster Luke McCarthy has agreed to join Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Grimsby on loan until January.
McCarthy has made two first-team appearances for the Shakers. The 18-year-old midfielder is expected to go straight into the Mariners' squad for their trip to Kettering this weekend. Grimsby are currently 16th in the table, five points above the relegation zone.
