Sanchez buzzing for Wembley

Lawrie Sanchez admitted he's excitement about a potential return to Wembley after Barnet progressed in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Sanchez says he could not watch the penalty shoot-out with Brentford in person. Danny Senda kept his nerve to convert the winning spot-kick at Underhill after keeper Dean Brill's heroics kept the scores goalless after Brentford dominated the 90 minutes. Sanchez famously struck the winner for Wimbledon in the 1988 FA Cup final, and only a two-legged tie with Swindon in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern Area final lies between him and a Wembley return as a manager. "I was watching on the TV in the press room. I can't affect penalties, and once I know who's taking them it's down to them to get on with it. I do not watch penalties as a general rule," said Sanchez. "I said to the players in every cup game, there is not a lot of glory for players in this division. But this is the one for us where you can get to Wembley, and I'd like to get there. "You don't get to play there often and I've never managed there, although I've played there twice."
