Glovers mull over Gilbert deal

Defender Kerrea Gilbert could soon be offered a new deal at Yeovil, according to Glovers boss Terry Skiverton.

Gilbert, who joined the Somerset side from Arsenal in the summer on a short-term contract until January, has featured eight times this term. And despite seeing red in his most recent outing - the 0-0 draw with Rochdale last weekend - the 24-year-old has done enough to convince the Huish Park hierarchy that he is worth an extended stay in the south west. "It is unfortunate and the timing (of the red card) is not great with us sitting down with (chief executive) Martyn (Starnes) this week and chatting about who we are keeping and who we are not," Skiverton told the Western Gazette. "There are a lot of things up in the air, especially with him, but I will sit down with him and we will talk about extending him because he has done well. "Him and Alan O'Brien have done very well so we will sit down with him and see if we can come to some sort of arrangement."
