Larkin injury blow for Pools

Hartlepool have suffered a blow with the news striker Colin Larkin requires another operation on his knee.

The 29-year-old has struggled with the injury all season and originally underwent surgery to cure the problem in November. Larkin suffered discomfort after trying to step up his recovery last week and will have another operation on Wednesday, meaning he is set to be out of action for another three months. Pools boss Neale Cooper told the club's official website: "It's tough on Colin but we need to get to the root of the problem and hopefully this latest operation will help us do that."
