Pesch to decide on Parkes

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido is yet to decide whether to try and keep defender Tom Parkes on at the Pirelli Stadium.
Parkes, 20 this week, has not played since suffering a broken ankle in a 1-1 home draw against Port Vale on August 16, but the defender made a surprise appearance on the bench for Albion at Plymouth on Saturday. His current loan deal runs out next week, leaving Peschisolido with a dilemma regarding the Leicester youngster. "I rate Tom as a player, which is why I've signed him three times on loan now. But I've also got to look after the interests of the club," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "We've had to pay his wages since August and I do not want to be in a situation where we renew the loan and then Tom goes down injured again. "I'm not saying that's going to happen because he looked fit and strong when he returned to us and joined in training last week. But he's not played for a heck of long time and it's not unusual for players to get (muscle) tweaks and pulls when they try to get back into the swing of things. "I was very close to putting Tom in the side at Plymouth but in the end I decided against it because it would have been asking a lot of a player who has had no competitive football in six months."
