Parkes bent on Brewers stay

On-loan Leicester defender Tom Parkes has expressed his desire to continue playing for League Two side Burton Albion.

Parkes' latest spell at the Pirelli Stadium is set to expire before Albion host Oxford in their next league fixture on Sunday. The 20-year-old linked up with the Staffordshire club for a third time in the last two years at the start of the season, but he suffered a fractured ankle in August and only returned to action against Bradford at the weekend. "I want to stay. I like being at Burton, it's a great club. We're pushing on and I want to be a part of that," Parkes told BBC Radio Derby. "Hopefully the manager [Paul Peschisolido] will turn around to me and say he wants to keep me and I can stay until the end of the season. "I want to stay, get games for Burton and help them get in the play-offs."
