Miller time for Stanley

Accrington have completed the signing of former Preston youngster George Miller on a free transfer.

Miller broke into the North End first-team squad last season and was handed six League One appearances by manager Graham Westley. However, with a summer of change in the offing at Deepdale, the 20-year-old midfielder was released and Stanley boss Paul Cook has secured his services on a one-year deal. "It was very tough for me to leave Preston because I spent 12 years of my life there, but what's in the past is in the past now and I have to look to the future and a new challenge," said Miller. "I'm excited about the new season. "My aim is to establish myself in the first team. That's the main reason why I came here - I want to play football. "I've obviously been released by Preston but now I've got the chance to really kick on and get plenty of games under my belt in League Two." Cook added: "He comes with a great reputation. We're delighted to have him here and looking forward to working with him this season."
