Fit trio big boost for Alex

Crewe have welcomed back injured trio Steve Phillips, Mathias Pogba, and Andy White to first-team training.

Goalkeeper Phillips and defender Andy White are yet to appear for the Railwaymen this season, while joint-leading scorer Pogba has missed the last six games with a knee injury. Manager Steve Davis has said the return of those three players has reduced the need to enter the loan market, but that Abdul Osman's ankle injury is a cause for concern. Davis told the club's official website: "We do have some players coming back to training. Steve Phillips and Pogs are back with us and so is Andy White. "With those players coming back, it means I don't have to do anything silly or drastic in the loan market but we will assess it if anything interests us." The Alex boss added: "We will have to assess Abdul's ankle early this week to see if he is going to be fit for the weekend."
