York City striker David McDaid has departed Bootham Crescent by mutual consent.

The 22-year-old Irishman joined City in January from Derry City on an 18-month contract but he made just four substitute appearances for the Minstermen and will now leave Bootham Crescent. A statement on York's website read: "We would like to thank David for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future."
