Ogogo wants home comforts

Dagenham captain Abu Ogogo is targeting maximum reward from back-to-back home games in League Two over the coming weekends.

Daggers boss Wayne Burnett failed to guide his side to victory in six attempts at Victoria Road last season having taken the reins from John Still towards the end of February. That elusive maiden success was secured in the club's first home fixture of this season as York were put to the sword and, following a home draw against Newport, Dagenham recorded a convincing 4-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Colchester in midweek. It was the first of three successive home matches for the London club, who welcome Exeter to the capital this weekend before entertaining Bristol Rovers. Ogogo told Press Association Sport: "We started off this season better than we did last season. But it's still a little bit inconsistent, for instance we go to Mansfield and don't turn up (a 3-0 defeat) and then the next game we beat Colchester 4-1. "I've said to the boys that if we can just win our homes games and nick something away from home then we'll be up there or thereabouts. "We've got two massive home games now and if we can get six points from these two games, which I believe we can, that will good." Ogogo has already got his name on the scoresheet twice this term after just seven games, doubling the tally he has finished with in each of the past three campaigns. "I set myself a target this season and I've got two already," he added. "Hopefully I can just keep on making it into the box, the ball can keep falling to me and I can stick it in the back of the net. That would be nice."
