Rowett hopeful on McGurk

Burton are confident that leading scorer Adam McGurk suffered no serious damage after he was knocked unconscious at the weekend.

McGurk was carried off on a stretcher with his neck in a brace after being pole-axed by his own goalkeeper during the first half of Saturday's FA Cup second round tie at Fleetwood. Albion boss Gary Rowett said: "The ball came in the box and Dean (Lyness) came out to clear and he must've caught Adam at the same time. "He was out cold. Mind, he looks dazed at the best of times with that haircut! "Seriously, though, when you see someone go down like that, you hope for the best. "I think he'll be okay but you worry when someone is knocked out cold." McGurk will be monitored this week with the hope that the eight-goal forward will be available for Burton's home league game against York on Saturday.
