McGee suffers ligament damage

Morecambe midfielder Joe McGee is set to miss much of next season after suffering knee ligament damage last week.

McGhee sustained the injury in last week's reserve clash with Shrewsbury and manager Jim Bentley confirmed he could be sidelined for a while. He said: "Joe was unfortunate to suffer a cruciate ligament injury at Shrewsbury in midweek and could be out for anything between six and nine months which is a real blow for him." That bad news has been offset somewhat, though, by goalkeeper Barry Roche signing a new two-year deal a the Globe Arena.
